The annual HUAWEI CONNECT 2023 event recently witnessed a significant announcement. Kang Ning, President of Huawei Cloud Global Ecosystem, introduced the Ascend AI Cloud Service, a revolutionary feature designed to provide robust, scalable AI computing power. This service, along with the Model Community and Developer Institute, is set to empower Huawei’s partners and developers to further expand the AI ecosystem.

Huawei Cloud has strived to establish a comprehensive ecosystem that embraces diverse foundation models and encourages global participation from partners and developers. The ecosystem now encompasses five million developers and 42,000 partners, with over 10,000 applications released on KooGallery, Huawei Cloud’s marketplace. Furthermore, more than 21,000 clients have applied for the Pangu PoC tests, highlighting the ecosystem’s widespread acceptance and utilization.

The Ascend AI Cloud Service is engineered to offer a potent computing base. This versatile infrastructure provides remarkable performance and diverse resources that will support partners and developers in model migration and training. Mainstream AI engines, such as Huawei’s deep learning training and inference framework, MindSpore, are integrated. This integration enables developers to migrate their state-of-the-art models to Ascend and train models with trillions of parameters for optimal results.
