Parameswaran Iyer will be new CEO of Niti Aayog. The cabinet committee on appointments cleared his name as the tenure of Amitabh Kant is ending on June 30.

Iyer was an IAS officer of 1981 batch before he took voluntary retirement to join World Bank. But he later came back to India to head Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship Swachh Bharat mission. Now he will lead the lead policy think tank of the government.
