The 2024 Olympic opening ceremony in Paris was nothing less than a spectacular musical extravaganza. 

This year's opening ceremony was nothing like ever seen, the organisers ditched the traditional ceremony, and became the first Games to hold the opening event within a city as a whole rather than in a stadium.

The city of love officially got its Olympic torch flamed after a four-hour Opening Ceremony which traversed the entire city and depicted many tales.

From the athletes sailing on River Seine to the stories of Gender equality and the yesteryears, the curtain raiser of Olympics 2024 had it all.

It was an absolute delight to witness such a beautiful opening ceremony, with city of Paris covered in such colors.

Thousands of athletes and performers paraded along the River Seine on a wet evening, before the night sky and the Eiffel Tower were lit up in dramatic technicolour, creating a hugely ambitious, one-of-a-kind spectacle.

It was a rainy afternoon and the evening brought more rains as the athletes were seen wearing raincoats as they got introduced while sailing in the river. A ten-fold story was told which covered from the colonial struggles to the message of global peace of recent times.

There were performances from Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and other notable artists. The cabaret dances on the banks of Seine along with an array of cultural display were also a point of attraction. But it has received an overall negative verdict from the viewers, who complained of exaggeration and slammed the IOC for exaggeration and waywardness. Many also felt sorry for the athletes who had to be present amid rain.

It was a fantastic display of French Culture and Values of Liberty,  Fraternity and Equality!🇫🇷

The City of Love did stand up for peace and solidarity across the planet!☮️
