Pat Cummins Scripts History: Takes Consecutive World T20 Hattricks
Australian ODI and Red-ball captain Pat Cummins has scripted history in the ongoing T20 World Cup by becoming the first ever bowler to take two back-to-back Hattricks in T20 Internationals.
The Australian speedster first picked up a hattrick against Bangladesh on Friday. He picked up the wickets of Towhid Hridoy, Mahadullah and Mahedi Hasan to achieve the feat. That was Cummins' maiden T20I hattrick. Yesterday, Cummins registered another Hattrick in his name, this time against Afghanistan. His victims were Karim Janat, Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib.
Cummins was visibly elated after his performance with the ball. He said during the innings break, "Crazy. Played 100-odd games for Australia, got two in a row. I thought they batted well. But I also thought we restricted the boundaries. They obviously ran well. Overall, decent bowling effort. Not our tidiest day in the field. Happy with the total."
