Penalties come to England's fore
England have historically been bad at penalty shootouts but that seems like a thing of the past. On Saturday England showed no nerves as they went 5/5 from the spot to beat Switzerland. They will now face the Netherlands in the semifinals.
It was an extremely cagey game but Switzerland took the lead through Breel Embolo and it looked like they had done enough. But Bukayo Saka put his hand up and provided a moment of magic to equalise.
England then, flush with penalty experts even with Harry Kane off the pitch, converted all their spot kicks but Manuel Akanji had his effort saved by Jordan Pickford.
