Pilgrimage to the Holy Shroud is the shrine of the Prophet (PBUH) in Kandahar, the largest city in southern Afghanistan. This cloak is respected and visited by the people of Afghanistan, and Afghanistan's governments have paid attention to it. The cover is a thick woolen garment woven from pure camel wool and is sky blue.
It is said that after the death of the Prophet (PBUH), this dress was first given to Owais Qarni, one of the followers and companions of Imam Ali (AS), and then to Baghdad, Samarkand, Bukhara, Balkh, Faizabad (Jozun) Badakhshan, Kabul and finally by Ahmad Khan Abdali, the ruler of Kandahar, was transferred to this city in 1182 AH. This place includes a mosque, a hall, and a dome for keeping cloaks, a courtyard, and endowments.
The noble cloak attributed to the Prophet is revered and sacred by the people of Afghanistan and other countries because of his unique and exclusive position. The governments of Afghanistan have also used the cloak to establish their Islamic legitimacy.
Vakili Popalzai, the book The History of the Noble Kandahar Cloak, has seen the cloak up close: The cover is a thick woolen garment made of pure camel thin wool. Its color is like the sky. The size of the clothes seems shorter than a human being. Its sleeves are also shorter than usual. The front of the dress is sewn with wool thread, and there is no bottom strip around the skirt. This dress has worn out over time.
The building includes a mosque, a hall with a dome, and a courtyard or courtyard. The cloak is kept in the lobby, inside a base box. Chandeliers hang from the dome roof. In the historical texts of Afghanistan, several decrees and endowments have been written about this pilgrimage by emirs, merchants, and other people, and some decorations and inscriptions have been added to this place.
According to the Prophet's cloak history, this dress was taken from Medina to Yemen, Mecca, Baghdad, Samarkand, Bukhara, Balkh, Faizabad (Jawzgun), Kabul, and finally to Kandahar.
