On January 26, 2021, which marked the International Day of Environmental Education, young members of Movimiento POP Venezuela were invited by the Botanical Garden of Naguanagua to give a talk on responsible consumption and production, circular economy, and healthy ecosystems. The speakers who included Andrea Verónica García Sánchez, Riccsay Estraño and Ricardo Delgado spoke about the Sustainable Development Goals and their specific objectives related to the themes of focus. The event was attended by members of the Guía Scaouts of Naguanagua.
On the same day, POP Motivator Mentor, Dr. Verónica González Landaeta from Movimiento POP Venezuela gave a presentation on the challenges of environmental education in a chat forum titled, “Sustainability: An opportunity to rethink environmental education” organized by ECOBRIÓN, an ecological foundation that aims to articulate proactive actions to save the Coastal Wetland “Laguna La Reina” and associated biomes.

(In this report series, POP Movement intends to present its past activities to showcase the growing acknowledgement and positive response that the environmental crisis has had among youth, government leaders, and other stakeholders across geographies in recent years. We believe that this presents hope for this decade of action.)
