Don't Be Quick To Lose The Baby Weight. This could harm your health and that of your baby.
Holding extra weight after your pregnancy, even for many months, is completely normal and healthy. There is no need to panic or distress over it. Most women retain significant amounts of excess weight even till one year after their delivery
Pregnancy is a period when a woman's body goes through a lot. During this time the body selectively supports the fetus, drawing nutrients and other resources from the mother's body. Post-pregnancy the body is drained and depleted of nutrients that need to be replenished, and there is tissue damage too. On top of this, the body needs adequate raw materials to produce nutritious breast milk. This is definitely not the tie to starve yourself. Obsessing over the excess weight gained after pregnancy, women tend to do that.
Post-pregnancy is a critical time for a woman's body- this is when it is trying to recover from the nutrient depletion and tissue damage incurred during the pregnancy along with producing nutrient-dense breastmilk. Panicking over the excess weight, women often go on extreme diets and restrict food intake which can severely harm their health.
