Another day, another high profile Democrat calling for the end of the electoral college.
At a recent fundraiser in California, vice presidential nominee Tim Walz called for the end of the electoral college.
This Democratic talking point has been making rounds for years, but became even more widespread ever since Trump won the 2016 election without winning the popular vote.
The electoral college does a lot of good. It prevents power from being consolidated in only populous states, without regard for the diverse cultures of all the states, it makes it easier for a group to commit voter fraud, and importantly it makes it so presidents have to consider the views of the people in smaller states, making it political suicide to ignore them.
Frighteningly, a move to practically abolish the electoral college is currently underway and is making headway. Today, states with 38.8% of the electoral college vote have pledged to assign their electoral college votes to the winner of the popular vote, rather than the popular vote of that state. Absurdly, this would mean that if a Republican candidate were to win the popular vote, states like New York and California, which have signed the pledge, would become red states with all of their electoral college votes going towards the Republican nominee.
Democrats will do everything to erode our constitution, from abolishing the electoral college, to taking our guns away and more. It’s frightening, and their power grab is underway. Well, ISIS terrorists have entered the United States. And you want to know how they got here? They took advantage of the Biden-Harris administration's lax immigration enforcement.
