Preparations are underway for a fresh MoU to provide AIIMS-like facilities at IMS BHU. For this, the paperwork has started at the IMS level. Four days ago, a meeting was to be held in the Health Ministry on this subject. Due to some reason, the meeting was postponed, and an important decision is expected soon in this direction.

While this will increase the facilities for examination and treatment of patients, the participation of the Health Ministry will also increase in providing AIIMS-like facilities at IMS, just like the operation of other AIIMS in the country. An MoU was signed between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education) at BHU on 5 August 2018 to provide AIIMS-like facilities at IMS BHU.

According to sources, at present the participation of the Health Ministry is important in the operation of AIIMS across the country. In order to ensure similar participation in IMS as well and to avail full benefits of the facilities on this basis, preparations are now underway for another MoU between IMS and the Health Ministry.
