A delegation of Japan’s Flame of Hope led by its president Ryoko Endo paid a visit to the Office of Tibet in Taiwan last Friday, 22 September. The purpose of their visit as per the information reiterated by Ryko Endo is to discuss their upcoming campaign in Taiwan. This campaign will have distinct guests from Taiwan and India.
Representative Kalsang Gyaltsen Bawa along with the office staff received the visiting delegation and introduced them to the roles and responsibilities of the office. He also recounted the delegation’s visit to Dharamshala last year where they received an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and also met with the leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration. Besides the office staff, the welcome reception of the visiting delegation was joined by the president and vice president of Taiwan’s Tibetan Association.
The representatives of the Tibetan Association who are also invited to participate in the campaign apprised the delegation of the various initiatives taken by the association. Meanwhile, Representative Bawa assured to tender whatever support and cooperation required in the campaign.
On 21 September, the office welcomed the visit of Tibetan artists Passang Lhamo and Techung, both former alumni of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Art who were visiting Taiwan for a cultural event.
