As it was President Droupadi Murmu's first joint session of Parliament in the Budget Session of 2023.

President Murmu addressed the session in Hindi focusing on 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat.'

She said, "India has entered Amrit Kaal completing its 75 years of Independence. Amrit Kaal is a period of 100 years of Independence and making of a developed India. These 25 years is a period for all citizens to focus on duty."

Mentioning about the self reliance and India's growing economy and startup culture, she quoted, "In 2015, India was 81st in the global innovation index. Today, however, were are ranked 40. Seven years ago, there were hundreds of registered startups in the country. This number has now grown to around 90,000."

Focusing and talking about country's challenges and developments, and also its achievements. During the first day of the Parliament Budget session she's seen quoting very interesting facts from her speech.

"From the surgical strikes to the tough crackdown on terrorism, from the LoC to the LAC, from the abrogation of Article 370 to the triple talaq, my government has been recognised as a decisive government," she said.

Emphasising India's G20 leadership, "India trying to find collective solutions to global challenges together with G20 member countries," she said.

Also mentioning about green energy and technology. "Indian Railways fast moving towards becoming world's largest electric railway network," she quoted.

She addressed about the problem of recession and instability in the world, she said,"Wherever there is political instability anywhere in the world, those countries are surrounded by a massive crisis. But due to the decisions my government took in the national interest, India is in a better position as compared to other countries."

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar read out some of the portion from her speech in English.
