Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his last respects to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar at Mumbai's Shivaji Park on Sunday evening. Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar died at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital earlier on Sunday.

PM Modi paid floral tribute to Lata Mangeshkar at Shivaji Park and performed a parikrama [circle around in reverence] of her mortal remains. The PM expressed his condolences to Lata Mangeshkar's sister and singer Asha Bhosle, and the rest of her family.

PM Modi also met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, who were also present at the venue.
