Delhi is under high-security as there are just few days left for G20 Summit. Amid all the security what's scary is the walls of at least five metro stations in Delhi were found vandalised with pro-Khalistani graffiti.
In a statement, Delhi Police said slogans such as 'Khalistan is a part of India and against PM Modi' appeared on the walls on several metro stations.
In pictures shared by Delhi Police, pro-Khalistani slogans were seen inscribed on the walls of metro stations that rwad "Delhi Banega Khalistan" and "Khalistan Zindabad". "Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) also released raw footage of Delhi Metro stations which were defaced with pro-Khalistan slogans," an officer said.
The SFJ, which accepted responsibility for the act, released footage of the Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh metro stations on YouTube that showed slogans such as "Khalistan Zindabad" and "Punjab Is Not India" on the walls.
Delhi Metro Police has filed an FIR against the vandalism under IPC sections on provocation for rioting (153) and public mischief (505).
The investigation is likely to be transferred to the special cell, officials added.
Police have also obtained CCTV camera footage of the stations where the slogans appeared.
The SFJ's statement claimed that they had written graffiti at the Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, Maharaja Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi and Punjabi Bagh metro stations. Police said they had noticed slogans in about four stations on Sunday morning and had them erased as reported by the TimesofIndia.
SFJ general counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said in a statement: "...Reminding G20 leaders that violence begets violence.... Indian government's use of bullets against pro-Khalistan Sikhs has reached Canada, UK and Australia."
