Producers of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Reveal Season 2 Plans
"Extraordinary Attorney Woo" producers have responded to reports of a second season of the wildly popular drama!
According to an unnamed source, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" writer Moon Ji Won recently signed a contract with the drama's production company, ASTORY, to pen a second season of the hit series, according to JTBC News on June 9.
While ASTORY previously expressed interest in producing a second season of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" last year, nothing had been confirmed—until now.
According to ASTORY, "we signed a contract with Moon Ji Won last year for her to write 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo 2.'"
However, the production company revealed that Moon Ji Won will be unable to write the script for some time due to prior commitments. The writer is currently preparing to make her directorial debut with the film "Deaf Boys" (literal title), which will begin filming in 2024.
"Because Moon Ji Won is currently busy with the preparations for her film, she will not be able to write the script right away," ASTORY explained. "We believe she will be able to begin writing the script in earnest after finishing her film at the beginning of next year."
ASTORY stated about the Season 2 production schedule, "Because we are currently at the stage of internal development, nothing has yet been decided." When asked if leads Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh would return, the company responded, "The casting of the lead actors, including Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh, has also not been decided yet."
Earlier this year, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" star Park Eun Bin took home the Grand Prize at the Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in the drama, while director Yoo In Shik took home the Best Director award.
