Rabona skill: Pele it's greatest exponent
The Rabona is a football skill which involves kicking the ball where the kicking leg is crossed behind the back of the standing leg.
Ricardo Infante is credited with inventing this skill, having scored for Estudiantes de La Plata against Rosario Central in 1948, using the technique.
The first filmed Rabona was performed by Pelé in the São Paulo state championship in 1957.
The Rabona might be performed for various reasons;
-Shooting when you are at an awkward angle or on the wrong side of the ball.
-To shoot or pass when you don't have much space.
-To trick the defence or goalkeeper who might think you would shoot with your other foot.
