Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat made a big statement on Monday about Manipur. He said that Manipur has been waiting for peace for a year. It has to be considered on priority. On May 3 last year, the Kuki community had organized a tribal unity march in the hill districts in protest against the demand of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status of the Meitei community. After which hundreds of people have been killed in the ethnic violence that broke out. Bhagwat said, 'Manipur has been waiting for peace for a year. Before that it was peaceful for 10 years. It seemed that the old gun culture had ended. Suddenly tension has arisen there or was created, its fire is still burning, it is our duty to give priority to it and pay attention to it.'He said that elections are a process of building consensus. Such a system is in place so that both aspects of any question are presented in Parliament. It is not right to criticise each other, misuse technology, and spread lies during election campaigns. Instead of Virodhi , one should say opposition. He said, we will have to get free from the emotion of elections and think about the problems facing the country.
