Reiss Nelson officially extends his Arsenal contract
Arsenal’s English winger Reiss Nelson has officially extended his contact.
After rumours regarding Brighton, most recently AC Milan among other clubs, Reiss has today put pen to paper on a 4 year deal, with an option for a 5th.
Another huge bit of business for the Gunners, who are excelling in every department, from contract renewals, to new signings & scholarships in the case of hyper talented Ethan Nwaneri & Myles Lewis Skelly.
Nelson is an incredible talented winger, developed through Hale end. A player who can go inside and out, who always plays with control of the situation.
A great player 1 on 1, who continues to develop impressively. His role in the squad is perfectly suited to being a key member of the first team squad, a fantastic covering and rotation option for superstar duo, Gabriel Martinelli, and if necessary Bukayo Saka.
In his interview following on from the contract, the winger stated that one of his main goals is to ‘stay fit’ saying ‘the rest will come’.
Reiss’s biggest hinderance comes in the form of fitness, missing 17 games last season.
But being a versatile rotator, reduces the burden on constant availability, and provides less pressure, to hopefully avoid injuries & maintain that rhythm he picked up brilliantly last season.
The moment in the dying embers vs Bournemouth would’ve been remembered for decades to come if Arsenal had won the league, but irrespective, it was a truly, special, and inspired moment.
He grabbed the opportunity with both hands, assisting Ben White’s volley for the equaliser & being a difference maker even outside of the goal.
Brighton in the EFL Cup gave a great indication of his development, being a constant direct, skilful threat who was always looking to make things happen.
A fantastic extension for the Gunners, at just 23 years of age. An important extension for a quality player who looks to only be improving.
