The first ever Manchester derby in an FA Cup final in 151 editions had seen the Metropolitan Police call it a high risk match that should not start any later than 4 15pm. The FA announced it would be at 3pm for the first time since 2011. The winners would receive a prize money of £2m while the the losing team would be entitled to £1m.
