The 15th season of the FA Premier League since its founding in 1992 was the 2006–07 campaign, also known as the FA Barclays Premiership for sponsorship reasons. The season began on August 19, 2006, and it ended on May 13, 2007. The FA Premier League changed its name to the simple Premier League on February 12th, 2007, along with a new logo, sleeve patches, and typography. The Barclays Premier League continues to be the league's sponsor.
After Chelsea's loss against Arsenal on May 6, 2007, at the Emirates Stadium, Manchester United won the Premier League for the eighth time in fifteen years. With two games remaining, this put them seven points behind United and crowned the Manchester club champions once more.
Now, let’s have a look at Manchester United’s Premier League win during the 2006-2007 season!
Manchester United played in the Premier League for the 15th consecutive season in 2006–07, marking their 32nd straight campaign in the country's premier football league. With a six-point victory against Chelsea, United had a far better season than they had the previous three. Additionally, they lost to Chelsea and Milan in the FA Cup final and UEFA Champions League semifinals, respectively.
Despite their success in the main tournaments, the team was unable to retain its League Cup victory from the 2005–06 season after falling to Southend United in the Fourth Round.
In addition to their dominance as a team in the 2006–07 season, Manchester United also excelled on an individual level. Eight United players were named to the PFA Team of the Year, and Cristiano Ronaldo won no less than eight individual awards for his performances throughout the season. Sir Alex Ferguson also won the Premier League Manager of the Season award.
