Rinku Singh - the Mahi'esque' Finisher?

Rinku Singh is the newfound finisher for Team India. It is conspicuous that the youngster's playing style replicates that of someone who is widely considered as the greatest finisher in the sport - Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

A cautious start: Rinku is not someone who starts swinging from the get go, though there's no doubt that he possess the capability to do so. He takes a couple of balls to assess the pitch, the bowling and the situation. While doing so, he ensures that the scoreboard keeps ticking. Mahi went about the exact same process.

Sudden burst at the end: Once his eyes are set, Rinku erupts in a burst of calm and calculated aggression. He backs his cricketing shots and plays the length rather than the field. Anything in his arc goes to the boundary. Other deliveries are respectfully played along the ground in gaps. This is a trait only talented finishers possess, and MS Dhoni was a master at this craft, though he relied a bit more on non traditional shots.

Rinku Singh has the potential to be a potent white ball finisher for team India in the long run. Kolkata Knight Riders have done a great job with his conditioning and he'll just get better from here.
