The Ganga River is a sacred body in India, it is believed that the River originates from the Lord Shiva himself.

India is a country of rituals, and beliefs, and the River Ganga is a centre of it all, according to the Hindu Traditions.

It is believed taking a dip into the Holy River Ganga washes all our sins away. The ashes of the deceased are also let into this river as it is considered to be a gateway for a peaceful departure to heaven, hence during festivals River Ganga is worshipped, and devotees pray to the River and also take a dip into the Holy Water.
