India the World No. 1 ODI team India will face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series next month.

All three matches are scheduled to take place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2, 4, and 7, respectively.

On July 18, after a lot of anticipation under the leadership of new head coach Gautam Gambhir, BCCI announced India's 15-member squad for the only ODI series in 2024.

Rohit Sharma is back in the team for the away series against the 1996 ODI World Cup winners and will lead the side as well.

Batting superstar Virat Kohli will also be seen in action against the Sri Lankan team, but star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the entire tour. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was also not included in the squad after he reportedly asked for a break due to personal reasons.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, B Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Akash Deep are 10 players who were dropped from India's ODI team for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The exclusion from the ODI side was a setback for Samson, who scored 108 runs in the last 50-over match for India, and Sudharsan, who amassed a total of 127 runs in three matches.
