Local sources in Kunduz confirm that Dr. Hoshang Rostaghi was abducted three months ago and released from the kidnappers.
“Dr. Rostaghi has been released from the abductors as a result of efforts by Taliban security forces,” Mohammad Naeem Mangal, director of Kunduz Hospital, told the media.
However, Mr. Mangal did not provide further details to the media and said: “Dr. Hoshang, who was abducted three months ago, was released last night and has returned home.”
In addition, Dr. Rostaghi’s family members confirm that he was released from the kidnappers, but they also did not give more details.
In the meantime, some sources said that the doctor had been released from the kidnappers in exchange for money.
Meanwhile, about two weeks ago, Taliban security forces released a doctor from the kidnappers in Kabul.
