Royal FC became Under-13 Youth League champion
Royal FC won the title in the Chandigarh Youth Football League for Manohar Singh Memorial Trophy. Do-or-die matches were played on the last day of Boys Under-13 League. Royal FC captured the title after drawing, while St. Stephens School team remained runner-up even after winning. Rupinder Singh Mantu Tehsildar was the chief guest on the last day and he felicitated the winning teams. The team of Chandigarh Football Association (CFA) was also present here.
Royal FC won 12 out of 15 matches in the league. One match was drawn and the team had to face defeat in two. Royal FC had 37 points in their account, but they remained on top on the basis of goal difference (+65). At the same time, St. Stephens School also won 12 out of 15 matches, drew 1 match and lost 2. The goal difference of team St. Stephens was +42, due to which the team had to be satisfied with the runner-up spot.
In the last league match, Royal FC held Maruti FC to a 1-1 draw. In the beginning of the match, both sides played a controlled game and they kept making moves to score goals. Maruti FC got the first success of the match and Yashpreet scored a goal in the 13th minute. After half time, Royal FC scored an equalizing goal. Ganesh scored this goal in the 28th minute with the help of Ahaan and equalized the score. After this, no goal could be scored and both had to be satisfied with 1-1 goals. Despite playing the match as a draw, Royal FC became the champion on the basis of better goal average.
In the second match, St. Stephens School defeated St. John's School 5-0. Vihaan scored 4 goals, but the team remained at the second spot. Vihaan scored two goals in the 8th and 12th minutes, while Viraj scored in the 14th minute to make the score 3-0. Vihaan completed a hat-trick in the 20th minute and scored the fourth goal in the 24th minute to seal the victory.
