Former NRL and State of Origin forward Josh McGuire has been sacked from Warrington Wolves, weeks after he was given a 12-game ban for unacceptable language.
The 33-year-old was given a lengthy ban for words he allegedly said to Leigh Leopards’ winger Josh Charnley.
He also missed the first seven games of the season after being banned for seven matches for the same offence against the same opposition.
Warrington put out their announcement this morning but hasn’t commented any further on the matter.
The statement states: “The Club can confirm that Josh McGuire has left the Wire by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
“McGuire has now returned to Australia with his family. We wish Josh well in his next chapter.”
This came after a post on social media had been shared from McGuire’s father saying his family was on his way back to Australia and some slanderous claims on how the club treated McGuire.
