Delhi, the national capital of India is known for its diversity, the city often holds festivals representing the culture and diversity of the country.
And what is better than food to show country’s diversity?
Organised in national capital by Union Ministry of Rural Development, Saras Food Festival is showcasing the diverse food of the country.
About 150 women entrepreneurs and members of self-help groups from 21 states across the country are participating in this grand arrangement.
There are stalls from everywhere from North to South, to East and West where lip-smacking food is available.
Saras Food Festival provides a glimpse of Indian culture and food to the people of nation capital and across the States. Through this festival people can not only enjoy the delicious cuisine of 21 states but they would also witness the culture and social fabric of these States. People came in the festival also showed their interest to know how different types of food from across the states are being prepared.
People coming to the festival can taste the flavour of delicious cuisine from 21 states. These includes Kair Sagari, Gatte ki Sabzi, Bajra Roti from Rajasthan, Hilsa Fish Curry from West Bengal, Chicken from Telangana, Malabar Biryani from Kerala, Litti Chokha from Bihar, Sarso da Saag and Makke ki Roti from Punjab and famous food from other states. People can also taste the best delicious dishes from Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Gujarat in this food festival.
One can indulge in seafood dishes like crabs and prawns from stalls of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, and also Kerala.
From Kashmir one can try Palak Nadru, and Kehwa.
The Food Festival held in Delhi's Cannought Place is a unique example of women empowerment.
