Saudi Arabia knocked out in cruel fashion by South Korea
In what was definitely the most anticipated game of the Round of 16 at the AFC Asian Cup, South Korea came from the jaws of defeat to go on and beat Saudi Arabia on penalties.
Saudi took the lead in the 46th minute through substitute Abdullah Radif who had just come on. South Korea toiled hard and in the 99th minute, with 90 secs remaining, their substitute Gue-Song Cho headed them level.
The game flowed into extra time where the Koreans seized the mantle and it showed in the penalty shootout as Hyun-Woo Cho saved two Saudi penalties and Son, Hwang and Co. were flawless in theirs.
