In the first of Arsenal's last four games of the season, Mikel Arteta's side travel to take on a Newcastle team hoping to confirm their participation in next season's Champions League. An incredible turnaround from a team originally fighting relegation last season before they were taken over by Saudi Arabia.
Arsenal's title hopes have faded in the last month, as they went four games without a win including a crushing defeat at the Etihad. Arteta and Arsenal insist they haven't given up yet though, getting back on track with a 3-1 win over London rivals Chelsea in mid-week.
The trip to Newcastle is a much more ominous task however, the Magpies have only lost at home once in the league this season. St James' Park also presents bad memories for Arsenal, having lost there last season in a crucial match that saw them miss out on top four.
Arteta made a few changes for the Chelsea game, and faces a selection dilemma today. Jakub Kiwior started his first Premier League game over Rob Holding and impressed against Chelsea but will face a much better attacking opposition today. Gabriel went off injured against Chelsea but is expected to play.
Gabriel Martinelli was dropped for Leandro Trossard against Chelsea, who did well. Martinelli has had a very impressive season however, and is a hard man to leave out of the side. If related to form, it is Bukayo Saka who could be left out for Trossard, but it is unlikely Arteta leaves out his star-man.
Jorginho started against his former side on Tuesday, and it remains to be seen whether Arteta sticks with the Italian or brings Partey back in. Newcastle's midfield is stacked with power and pace so it is likely Arteta will want added mobility in his midfield but Partey's recent form has left a lot to be desired.
Arsenal's objective is clear today. Win, and they can keep an outside chance of the title alive. Drop points, and it is all but over.
