Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be attending the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 from the studios of Jio Cinemas. The actor tweeted and confirmed the news that he will be present during the broadcast of the game between France and Argentina, while he will not be in Qatar. He is attending the game to promote his upcoming film ‘Pathaan’.
Sharing a teaser clip, SRK wrote that while Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will be there on the field, he will be with Wayne Rooney in the studios. In the video, he can be seen saying that he will not be in Qatar for the finals, but in the studios of Jio Cinemas. He also hinted that there is a chance that fans will get to see him talking to former England footballer Wayne Rooney.
While King Khan will be promoting the film on the screen, Deepika Padukone will be in Qatar to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy. This puts ‘Pathaan’ and Bollywood on a global platform. Before them, Nora Fatehi has been to Qatar to perform at the FIFA Fan Fest while other Bollywood celebs including Ananya Panday, Aditya Roy Kapur and Aamir Khan went to watch the games.
While Shah Rukh and Deepika promote the film at the World Cup, the film is facing controversy for the song ‘Besharam Rang’. MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra and certain Hindu outfits have raised questions on the bold scenes and ‘bhagwa’ bikini worn by Deepika.
The film also stars John Abraham and Ashutosh Rana. Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ will release in cinemas on January 25.
