We have all watched the famous movie ‘Karz’, starring Rishi Kapoor. And of course, reincarnation is extremely intriguing, but just a myth. As it remains unexplained. Yet, India witnessed it’s first case of reincarnation with Shanti Devi.
Shanti Devi was an Indian woman who became famous for her claims of reincarnation in the 1930s. She
was born on January 11, 1926, in Delhi, India. When she was four years old, she began to speak about her past life as a woman named Lugdi Devi who lived in a village called Chhattarpur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, about 140 miles away from Delhi.
Shanti Devi’s claims were investigated by several scholars and researchers, including Mahatma Gandhi and other prominent figures of the time. She was able to provide detailed information about her past
life, including the names of her family members, her village, and even the location of her house.
In 1935, Shanti Devi was taken to Chhattarpur, where she was able to recognize and identify many
people from her past life, including her husband and children. She was also able to identify her former home, which had been abandoned for several years.
Shanti Devi’s case attracted widespread attention, and it was considered as one of the most compelling cases of reincarnation ever documented in India. Her story was later published in a book called “I Have
Lived Before” by Sture Lönnerstrand.
Shanti Devi’s case sparked a renewed interest in reincarnation in India, and it continues to be studied and debated by scholars and researchers to this day. Her story remains a fascinating example of the possibility of past life memories and the idea of reincarnation. Do you have any theory on what could be the reason for such phenomenon?
