On the day-two of Sikyong Penpa Tsering’s official visit to Varanasi, he visited the Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Sarnath. He visited Mulgandha Kunti Vihar and Dhammekh Stupa followed by a visit to Lhadan Chotrul Monlam Chenmo Trust. He also visited and paid obeisance to the cluster Tibetan monastic institutions in Sarnath namely Tara temple, Vajra Vidya Institution, Orgyen Samye Dharma Chakra Vihar and Sarnath Nyingma International Institute.

In the morning, Sikyong Penpa Tsering took an assessment tour of the campus of the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies. He visited the various academic departments of the institute including Sorit Hospital, hostels, Nalanda Bhawan, Library and new Sorig building.

In addition, Sikyong interacted with the staff of the institute and commended their efforts in advancing the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and keeping alive the traditional Tibet and ancient Indian knowledge.

Sikyong is set to depart for Delhi at 4:00 PM where he is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at a seminar organised by Foundation for Non-Violent Alternatives.
