As part of the assessment visit of Tibetan institutions and community in Dharamshala, Sikyong Penpa Tsering visited the Gyuto monastery this morning at around 9:00 AM.
Abbot Ghangkar Tulku Rinpoche led Lama Khangser Tulku and the monks of the monastery gave a warm welcome reception to the Sikyong and escorted him to the prayer hall where Sikyong paid obeisance to the holy throne, idols, and stupas. Following that, Sikyong was given a tour of the monastery and its departments.
From 4-7 September, Sikyong embarked on a four-day assessment visit of Tibetan schools, monasteries, and institutions in and around Dharamshala. During his tour of Dharamshala and throughout his public talk, Sikyong reiterated the twin objectives of the 16th Kashag – resolving the Sino-Tibet conflict and mitigating the welfare concerns and challenges in exile while apprising the gathering about the 16th Kashag’s Vision Paper.
