Social media is often seen as a mode that is used for triggering violence and creating tumult.
There have been multiple cases where a piece of misinformation has caused problems for people.
Like recently, when a social media post on the movie Kerala Story took the life of one and injured several others.
Sadly, people are so easily driven by some views and do everything to amplify and facilitate the same on social media.
The offensive posts and videos that might hurt the sentiments of people are easily proliferated without taking care of what harm they will inflict on everyone’s mind.
Many WhatsApp groups were made to create hatred among people.
In the Akola case, several people entered the police station claiming the insult of the prophet and a community in a chat on Instagram.
This led to chaos and also took the life of one.
It is quite shameful to see how a social media post can be enough for inciting violence and harm.
There should be certain policies that don’t allow people to share any kind of irrelevant or sensitive information that might trigger any group or lead to such a situation.
Furthermore, some examples clearly show how social media is used in spreading harmful contradictions.
This should be stopped!!
