Modern F1 tracks are ~5 km. long. In 1957 F1 raced at
Pescara in Italy, with a whopping 25.578 km. lap
distance.
At age 10, Lewis Hamilton asked McLaren team boss
Ron Dennis for an autograph, and told him: "One day I
want to be racing your cars". In 2007 Hamilton made
his F1 debut with McLaren.
Ricardo Zunino started his F1 career after Niki Lauda's
sudden retirement during qualifying for the 1979
Canadian GP meant Brabham had to look for a driver in
the audience via the track's PA system. Zunino, being
an F2 driver meaning he was qualified to drive the car,
got the gig and brought it home in 7th.
