Water security is our capability to ensure sustainable access to adequate quantities of water with acceptable quality necessary for sustaining livelihood and human well-being. In order to ensure water security, we need sustainable development and management of water resources in a comprehensive manner. Water Security is one of the most important aspects for sustainable development of nations. Sustainable and equitable distribution of water is decisive for a peaceful and stable world-order Without water security, there can be no national security. When all communities regardless of religion, class, sect, or gender have an equitable access to water, every member of the society can benefit and create an impact.
“Water Security” is a multi-faceted issue that not only envisages agricultural and industrial sectors but ensures access of water for the entire population of the country, covering villages, rural areas, towns, and cities.
Water is the primary source of life on earth and is the epicentre of existence. Water is at the core of sustainable development and is critical for addressing socio-economic equity and healthy ecosystems.

World Situation
Water resources in many parts of the world are already under pressure due to population growth, economic development, industrialization, urbanisation and over exploitation. In 2015, the United Nations Member States launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to end global poverty, advance health and education, reduce inequality, protect the environment and accelerate economic growth. The Sustainable Development Goal 6 focuses on ensuring availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation for all. This cannot be achieved without the cooperation of all stakeholders in the water sector and working together to find innovative and appropriate solutions for the conservation and management of water resources through innovative methods and technologies to achieve the desired goal.
