PCOS can cause darkening however not every darkening is because of PCOS! Insulin resistance could be the culprit! It can lead to dark, velvety skin in the underarm, neck, inner thighs, lips and under eyes, which is not because of tanning or sun exposure. There are different types of PCOS and the symptoms of each type can be different. It can also be because of conditions such as inflammation, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy.
