Soni Chaurasia of Varanasi, who created a world record by dancing Kathak for 126 hours and 5 minutes, is trying to bring a smile on the faces of differently-abled children through her dance. She is doing the work of teaching dance to the differently-abled with a positive aim. She says that the satisfaction she gets by doing this work is probably far above any award or honor or degree for me. Soni Chaurasia of Banaras had shown something different in her school life itself. In the year 2008-09, Soni Chaurasia performed Dance on Wheels for the first time in the inter-school district level cultural competition at Gopiradha Balika Inter College, Rabindrapuri. Everyone was amazed to see the high school girl dancing wearing roller skates. After this Soni Chaurasia's passion for dance kept on increasing. Under the guidance of coach Rajesh Dogra, Soni Chaurasia overcame many difficult phases. Soni Chaurasia has gone from Banaras to Ladakh on a bullet motorcycle. Has traveled by firing a bullet at a height of 18 thousand 380 feet. Sony Yash • Awarded with Aarti Samman, Soni Chaurasia was honored with many awards. Sony works to teach dance as therapy to special children. Soni is interested in dance as well as acting. She has also worked in Swami Vivekananda's serial. Which is not yet released.
April 9, 2016, Kathak dancer Soni Chaurasia broke the world record of longest dance marathon with her non-stop dance performance. Chaurasia danced continuously for 124 hours and broke the five-year-old previous record set by Kalamandalam Hemalatha of Kerala in the year 2011. When Soni entered the 123rd hour of her performance, the crowd started cheering for her to complete the last hour and enter the Guinness World Records.
