The Sports Ministry's Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has sanctioned financial support for trap shooter Rajeshwari Kumari's training camp in the Czech Republic, aiding her preparations for the Paris Olympics. Rajeshwari Kumari secured a quota place for the Paris Olympics at the ISSF World Cup 2023. The Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) will ensure she receives comprehensive support to optimize her performance at the international level.
In addition to Rajeshwari's training, the MOC is funding long jumper M Sreeshankar's 28-day rehabilitation program in Doha following his knee surgery. The program includes airfare, accommodation, rehabilitation assessment, physiotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
Other beneficiaries of the MOC's support include shooters Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer Sidhu for their participation in the Rapid Fire Cup in Germany, as well as badminton players Sankar Muthusamy, Ayush Shetty, and Anupama Upadhaya, who will receive financial backing for competitive exposure.
These initiatives reflect the Sports Ministry's commitment to providing world-class training and rehabilitation facilities to Indian athletes, enhancing their chances of success at the Paris Olympics.
