Let’s go back to January 2021, when I went to visit these beautiful temples with my family.
Starting from introducing them-
Sri Sharadamba Temple is one of the oldest and famous temples of Karnataka established by Adi Shankara in 8th century. Sri Sharada Devi is the main deity of Sringeri. This temple is located on the banks of River Tunga, Chikmagalur Dustrict in Karnataka.
Devi/Goddess temples are most happening during Navaratri, and so is Sringeri Sharadamba Temple. Many devotees visit this temple to name their new born babies, to mark the beginning of the education of their children, or any such other important occasions of life.
Apart from the main shrine of Devi Sharada, Sri Vidyashankara Temple is another attraction within the temple premises. Vidyashankara Temple is a beautiful temple with architectural structure of both Hoysala and Dravidian style. Lord Vidya Ganapathi and Durga reside here. Also there are shrines of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara.
Sringeri Sharda Temple Fish is of great importance. There are huge fishes on the banks of the river near the temple. Fishing here is banned. They are considered sacred. It is customary for the devotees who visit the temple to feed these fishes with puffed rice and baby toasts. The temple owns elephants too.
It was this January when I went to my native, my family decided to pay visit to these beautiful temples and to be honest it was such a historic beauty and to our surprise so many fishes in the banks so many like dots.
It was a great fun day in all.
And never have I ever seen so many fishes in a bank which seemed nothing but dots.
Hoping for another visit to it soon!!
So this was my story about visiting a historic beauty, have you visited any such? Do let me know in the note session about it.
