Starting solids is such an exciting milestone for your baby!
But Introducing solids can also impact sleep probably not in the way you think!
The introduction of solids too early, or too much can sometimes cause discomfort for your baby's immature digestive system. They may experience gas or constipation. This can in turn cause an upset tummy and lead to MORE frequent night wakes as a result. If you've been encouraged by friends or family to introduce solids as a means of improving sleep, take this with a grain of salt. It's also important to remember that milk is the primary source of nutrition for the first 12 months of life, with this you want to ensure that solid feeds do not displace milk intake. Adding solids into your babys diet before they are ready is NOT the answer to more sleep - it's actually a huge misconception in the sleep world.
Remember - Before starting solids ensure your bub is the right age, showing all the right signs OR follow the advice of your family's trusted medical professional.
