The ongoing stress between India and Canada is adding stress to the lives of the parents and children who are living in India and Canada.
Families of those who are either studying or working in Canada are worried and demanded that both nations resolve the issue amicably.
As India "suspended till further notice" its visa services in Canada, and Canada being one of the most preferred countries for people from Punjab to study and settle down.
Rishipal, a local shopkeeper in Kapurthala, said that he is worried about the safety of his daughter, who went to Canada eight months ago on a study visa, as reported by Economic Times.
75-year-old Madan Lal Sharma and his wife, residents of Kapurthala district, said they returned from Canada five days ago. Sharma said that their children- Atul Sharma and Amit Sharma,who are Canadian citizens were planning to come to India to attend a function.
Now so many families will be stuck because of this move of the government.
The escalating tensions between the two countries is making the life of the common people in Canada difficult.
Some worry that will their children be able to come back, and some are hoping that they can return of their native place.
While for some the hope of going to Canada seems to be crashing and seems like a distant dream now.
