Dhanbad (Jharkhand): The special investigation team, set up by the Dhanbad senior superintendent of Police (SSP) into fatal accident of an additional district judge Uttam Anand, has arrested three persons on Thursday.
The arrested persons include the auto driver, who hit Anand when he was on the morning walk on Wednesday.
A CCTV clip, showing a driver knocking down Anand, went viral on social media.
The Bar Council of India had raised the issue in the Supreme Court and sought its direction for a prompt action against the culprits. It alleged that it was not a simple hit-and-run case, but a murder.
Chief Justice of India NV Ramana declined issuing any order, saying that the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court has taken note of the accident and is looking into the matter.
Dhanbad SSP Sanjeev Kumar said that three persons, including the auto driver, have been arrested by the special investigation team set under the leadership of city SP.
