Taekwondo Kim Unyoung Cup; Afghan athletes achieved four valuable victories.
Taekwondo competitions of the Kim Unyoung Cup started this morning in the city of Mojo, South Korea, and Afghan taekwondo players achieved four valuable victories. Mohsen Rezaei in 58 kg weight (two wins), Hikmatullah Zain in 68 kg and Ramin Amini in 54 kg weight were able to win over their competitors.
Afghanistan's national taekwondo team, which has participated in these competitions with eight athletes, started its competition this morning at the Taekwondowon hall in Mojo city.
Mohsen Rezaei defeated the American taekwondo player with authority in the first match. In the next stage, he defeated the representative of South Korea and made his way to the semi-finals to secure his bronze medal. The next opponent is Mohsen Rezaei, an Australian taekwondo player.
This Afghan taekwondo player, who is ranked fourth in this tournament, was able to reach the position of Asian champion in 2021.
Today, Hekmatullah Zain, the other national team member of Afghanistan in the 68 kg category, managed to defeat his Iraqi opponent with full points in two rounds and reached the quarter final stage.
In another match, Ramin Amini won against his Korean opponent in the 54 kg weight category to reach the semi-finals.
