Although India follows the One-China policy and lacks formal diplomatic ties with Taiwan, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centres in India serve as essential channels for conducting business.

With Mumbai's status as India's financial hub and largest port, this strategic decision by Taipei holds immense significance.
