Takhar is one of the 34 territories of Afghanistan, situated in the upper east of the nation close to Tajikistan. It is encircled by Badakhshan in the east, Panjshir in the south, and Baghlan and Kunduz in the west. The city of Taloqan fills in as its capital.
The territory contains 17 regions, more than 1,000 towns, and around 1,113,173 individuals, which is multi-ethnic and generally a provincial society. Between the mid-sixteenth century and the mid-eighteenth century, the region was administered by the Khanate of Bukhara.
It was given to Ahmad Shah Durrani by Murad Beg of Bukhara after a truce was reached in or around 1750, and turned out to be essential for the Durrani Empire. It was governed by the Durranis followed by the Barakzai administration and was immaculate by the British during the three Anglo-Afghan conflicts that were battled in the nineteenth and mid-twentieth hundreds of years.
