In a bid to maintain its SUV supremacy, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch four midsize SUVs in India next year. Following the triumphs of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari facelifts, Tata aims to captivate the market with a diverse lineup.
1. Tata Curvv:
The eagerly anticipated Curvv, transitioning from concept to reality in 2024, boasts road tests in progress. With a design true to the concept, its distinctive sloping coupe-like roofline captures attention. Packed with features like dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and a sizable touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, the Curvv promises to rival competitors. Engine options include an EV variant followed by a turbo-petrol engine in development, with a potential diesel version.
2. Tata Harrier EV:
Building on the success of the facelifted Harrier, Tata plans to launch the EV version showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Retaining the familiar design with minor tweaks, the Harrier EV will ride on the OMEGA-Arc platform, featuring a 60kWh battery for an impressive 500 km range. A dual-motor AWD setup is also a possibility, aligning with the versatile platform.
3. Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol:
Recognizing the shift in automotive trends, Tata will introduce petrol variants of the Harrier and Safari. With turbo-petrol engines in development, Tata aims to cater to a wider audience, bridging the gap between diesel and EV offerings. The move aligns with market expectations, ensuring Tata remains competitive in the dynamic midsize SUV segment.
