The tent city in Ayodhya that can accommodate 25,000 people at a time has been opened for devotees. Besides, one hundred dormitories have been made equipped with beds, mattresses and blankets.
Ayodhya commissioner Gaurav Dayal on Thursday inspected the tent city built by the Uttar Pradesh state tourism development corporation in the green field township area. Dayal instructed the officials to ensure all the basic infrastructure facilities in the tent city.
Talking to TOI, Dayal said, "I have instructed officials to number the beds in all the dormitories and to make adequate number of mobile charging points. I have also made it very clear that all the standards of electrical and fire safety should be followed in the dormitory and campus and there should also be adequate ventilation."
"Along with ensuring the availability of drinking water, I have also directed the staff for regular cleaning of toilets and keeping the premises neat and clean," he said.
The DC said that the roads built in the middle of the tent city were uneven and there is a possibility of water logging during the rainy season. "I have instructed them to ensure that those potholes should be filled and the roads should be made motorable as soon as possible," he said.
