Warner Bros. Discovery has released a teaser for its upcoming “The Batman” spin off TV series “The Penguin”. Currently in production, the series is set post the events of “The Batman” with Gotham City still flooded in the aftermath of Riddler’s terrorist attack.
Scheduled for a total of eight episodes, Collin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot and the series will focus on his rise to power from being the right hand of his recently deceased boss and Gotham’s kingpin Carmine Falcone to one of the leading figures in Gotham’s underworld and his rise as the new Gotham crime overlord the Penguin, one of Batman’s biggest enemies.
Aside from Colin Farrell the series will also star Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen in recurring roles. There may also be a possible appearance by Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman though that has yet to be confirmed.
A joint project between 6th and Idaho, DC Entertainment, Dylan Clark Productions, and Warner Bros. Television, the series will be executive produced by Dylan Clark, Matt Reeves, Farrell, LeFranc, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassanand, and Rafi Crohn and will debut sometime on HBO Max in 2024.
