A Glimpse Under the Hood
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 will be powered by the same 2.8L 1GD-FTV direct injection turbocharged diesel engine that is found in the Fortuner. It cranks out a robust 201bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm.
This power is channeled to all four wheels through a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, courtesy of a part-time 4WD system. The five-seater vehicle comes with a 130-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 2,300 kg.
For the 2024 model year, Toyota has refined the Land Cruiser 70's engine, handling stability, overall aesthetic, and safety features. In doing so, Toyota has managed to enhance the model's value proposition, all while upholding the key traits of the 70 series, which include reliability, durability, and the capability to master off-road terrains with ease. The vehicle's upgrades are aimed at augmenting its off-road prowess while reducing noise levels, improving interior quietness, and enhancing fuel efficiency.
The Land Cruiser 70 employs a sturdy ladder frame that also ensures improved comfort on paved roads. It comes equipped with a host of features that enhance both on-road and off-road handling, including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (A-TRC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). These additions also enhance steering stability, making the Land Cruiser 70 a reliable partner on any terrain.
The vehicle's design is dictated by a blend of horizontal and vertical lines, retaining the series' unique silhouette while incorporating updates that cater to the preferences of modern-day customers.
